5 NEW ART EXHIBITIONS TO GO SEE THIS WINTER IN MIAMI

There are so many galleries emerging in the Miami art scene it can be hard to choose which ones to visit. We have narrowed down the top 5 exhibits for you to check out this season!

Spending your leisure time exploring new exhibits will spark creativity in your interior design decisions, so I seriously recommend you check at least some of them out. The visual arts will help inspire you to create a unique aesthetic to any room.

These new art shows will get you excited about collaborating and designing a space.

  • Come and marvel at one of the country’s biggest and best collections! “To Have and To Hold: 50 Years of Marriage and Collecting Contemporary Art” at the Rubell Family Collection. The Rubell family has been collecting art for many years and truly has an eye for talent, seeing the greatness in the works of Jean-Michael Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Jeff Koons.
  • Architecture and designs fans are swarming to see One Way: Peter Marino at the Bass Museum of Art. This show is much more then just Marino’s most popular designs, it is a look at the artist’s sense of personal style as well as the artworks he has commissioned.
  • At the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami you can enter the “Sanatorium” and be amazed by Pedro Reyes’s ongoing performative project that mixes art and psychology. You will get the chance to actually be a part of Reyes’s installation!
  • The Perez Art Museum Miami currently has five exhibits present with people lining up to see this Brazilian artist’s show; Beatriz Milhazes: Jardim Botanico. Mihazes is known for her mesmerizing patterned abstracts. Come see it before is closes!
  • Round off your gallery adventure with “Myth and Machine: The First World War in Visual Culture” at the Wolfsonian-Florida International University. This exhibit is full of sculptures, propaganda, posters, and more that focus on the realities of war and the relationships between man and machine. It will give you a surprising and meaningful note to end your art tour on.

INTERVIEW WITH THE BEST HIGH END PERSONAL TRAINERS IN MIAMI

If you watch regularly, you know how much I like to bring you news of some of Miami’s great attractions outside the high end interior design world.

This week is a fun one!

Jean Marc and Gil are giants in the world of hard core personal training. These former pro boxers are the co-owners of Famous Trainers right here in Sunny Isles.

People who love the finer things in life usually take care of their most prized possession…their bodies. If you’re watching, you’re probably in that category.

I think you’re going to love it!

NEW YEAR’S EVE MIAMI-STYLE

Is there a better place in the world to celebrate New Year’s Eve than Miami?

Nahhhh…

With all do respect to my original hometown of New York City, Times Square is cold and crowded. In Miami, you can party ’til the break of dawn on the beach or in true luxury at a seafront hot spot.

So to all my friends and fellow Miamians…Happy New Year! (Oh what the hell…the same goes for the rest of ya.)

HIGH END INTERIOR DESIGN GETS BRAZILIAN

As you know, we here at Interiors by Steven G. adore all things Brazilian — from the culture to the clients. That’s why when we hear about high end interior design news from South America’s largest nation, we have to bring it to you.

So imagine our pleasure when we found out about this 1,200 square meter palace specifically designed to let cool air naturally flow through it. A perfect place for the tropics.

If only a Miami interior designer would take a page out of their book.

Hey wait a minute…

WHY BRAZILIANS ARE MIAMI INTERIOR DESIGNERS’ BIGGEST CLIENTS

There’s no bigger market for Miami real estate and interior design than Brazil. But why are Brazilians flocking to Miami? Is it the luxury real estate? The high end interior designers? Or is it simply the weather?

On this episode of DesignTV with Steven G., Brazilian-Miamian powerhouse high end real estate broker Yara Gouveia tells us why wealthy and powerful Brazilians love Miami so much as well as its homes and interior decoration style.

MIAMI’S MOST LUXURIOUS PROPERTIES YET

On this week’s episode of DesignTV With Steven G., we talk to Monica Gorban…the lead realtor of Miami’s newest high end properties — the Mansions at Acqualina and the Estates at Acqualina.

Of particular interest are the luxury interior design-ready suites. Check it out.

A HIGH END INTERIOR SHOW ENTERS ITS SECOND YEAR

Back at the beginning of 2014, I had an idea. There are so many people out there interested in big end interior design but never get to see how the process really happens. Sure, there are great home improvements shows on HDTV and the like, but those are more for the Do-It-Yourselfers.

What I decided I wanted to do was create a series showing people how the most luxurious high end interior design and decoration projects come to life.

The result was DesignTV with Steven G.

As we enter the show’s second year, it’s become more than I ever could have hoped. Since we first started, We’ve taken you through the process from the warehouse to the showroom to the finishing touches. We’ve brought you interviews with some of the high end real estate and design world’s most prominent people. And so much more.

So as we embark on the second year of our show, I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for watching and making it happen.

AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT

We spend a lot of time here talking about the details of luxury interior design. Patterns.Materials. Colors. Furniture.

And so on.

With all that attention to the separate parts, it can sometimes become easy to forget about the whole.

It comes down to this: A home is a place where memories happen. If your interior decoration choices help make those memories warmer, you’ve succeeded.

So if you’re spending the holidays at home this year, make sure to kiss the ones you love and tuck them in tight.

Merry Christmas!

Happy Chanukah!

Happy Holidays!

THE NEW FACE OF LUXURY INTERIOR DESIGN…PORCELAIN

In a long ago episode of DesignTV with Steven G., we took you to our showroom to show you how porcelain has clawed its way back to be the hottest thing in luxury interior design.

Now it’s time to check out an example of why we’re so enthusiastic about it.

5 HIGH END INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS TO LOOK OUT FOR

I’m always amazed by how interior design trends that were considered out of date just 5 years earlier always come back to be considered more chic than ever, even among the high end set.

While I’m truly a believer that when it comes to decorating your home, you’ve got to listen to yourself first, the fact is that personal tastes often evolve. And a lot of times the change in what you like is subtly influenced by what’s going on in the world-at-large.

So here’s what Zillo is predicting will be the 5 hot new trends in interior design in the upcoming year…

  1. Gold Fixtures
  2. Cowhide
  3. Wallpaper
  4. Blue Accent Colors
  5. Mid-Century Elements
